RESEARCH COORDINATOR II

 Based in Key Largo, Research Coordinator II serves as a member of the Mission: Iconic Reefs (MIR) Field Team in support of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS).  They assist in coordinating the day-to-day activities associated with implementing the MIR monitoring program including coral restoration monitoring; surveying benthic and fish assemblages; installing and downloading sensors; analyzing and archiving large data sets; and restoration site preparation and maintenance. They develop research and monitoring protocols and support a variety of other operations associated with the execution of MIR or other collaborative National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) science projects within FKNMS as needed. This position is based out of the FKNMS offices in Key Largo, Florida.

 Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience.

 Departmental Requirements: 

  • SCUBA diving certification.
  • Rescue Diver SCUBA certification from a nationally recognized agency or military.
  • Seventy-five (75) logged open water dives.

Advertised Salary: $55,000 – $62,000
