Kai Lopez works with the Mission: Iconic Reefs Upper Keys Field Team, monitoring invertebrates, corals, fish, water quality, and water temperature. Kai holds an undergraduate degree in Marine Biology from FIU and has worked in marine natural resource management in South Florida for 10 years in coral, seagrass, and mangrove ecosystems. Kai also holds a USCG 100-ton Master Near Coastal Captain’s License. Kai’s favorite marine invertebrate is the mantis shrimp.
